Jill and her daughter brought me a quilt that they had initially stitched together, bound and tied. Then they decided it would hold up better at college if it were machine quilted. This was a challenge because of the loading procedure to get the quilt onto the frames. But with careful pinning it was accomplished. I was unable to stitch right up next to the edge because of the pinning but given that I thought the quilt turned out nicely. I definitely would not suggest finishing the quilt prior to quilting it.
